From Instagram Direct to your own shop: stop selling only in DMs
Own channel
Telegram shop
Instagram brings discovery. Direct brings questions. The problem starts when the entire shop lives inside those threads: prices in replies, sizes in voice notes, “reserved” meaning a screenshot. Moving from Instagram Direct to your own shop does not mean leaving Instagram — it means Direct becomes the door, not the warehouse.

What “own shop” means if you sell from Instagram
Own shop for a CIS product brand:
- one catalog with real SKUs and photos;
- orders on a board, not only in chat history;
- optional Telegram Mini App so buyers finish without waiting for a reply;
- stock that updates when you promise or sell.
Instagram stays for reach and first contact. The shop system owns truth about price, availability, and order status.
Why Direct-only breaks as you grow
At 5–10 chats a day, a careful owner can keep up. At 30+:
- two managers quote different prices from memory;
- the same size is “held” for three people;
- buyer history disappears when the phone changes;
- you cannot see which posts converted — only which DMs feel busy.
That is not a “need more AI replies” problem. It is a missing catalog + order + stock loop.
A practical exit path (one week)
- Days 1–2: Load the 20 products you actually sell into a catalog. Variants (size/color) if apparel or gifts need them.
- Day 3: Connect Instagram so DMs appear next to the CRM (or keep answering in IG, but create every paid “беру” as an order on the board).
- Day 4: Attach Telegram Mini App / bot menu to the same catalog. Pin the link in bio, stories, and auto-reply.
- Days 5–7: Change the script: answer questions in Direct, send the catalog link for checkout, stop sending full price lists as images.
You still talk in Instagram. You stop using Instagram as the database.
What to say in Direct (templates that push to the shop)
- “Yes, size M is free — open the catalog and order it here: [Mini App]. I’ll see the order on our board.”
- “Price and photos are in the card — pick color there so we don’t mix variants.”
- “If you prefer, I can create the order for you — same catalog, same stock.”
The goal is one source of product truth, not colder customer service.
Own channel vs marketplace (short)
Marketplaces still work for reach. Own shop works for margin and repeat buyers you can message again. Many CIS shops run both: ads/marketplace for discovery, Instagram + Telegram shop for owned demand. The failure mode is discovery and fulfillment only in unmanaged DMs.
Success criteria after two weeks
Most paid conversations end as board orders; free stock matches what you promise in Direct; at least some buyers self-serve via Mini App. That is an own shop fed by Instagram — not a prettier chat inbox.
