How to sell on Telegram without a marketplace

Marketplaces bring traffic. They also take a cut, own the relationship, and bury your brand. Many small shops already take orders in Direct and Telegram — then lose track in chats and spreadsheets.

You can go online on your own channel first.

Why Telegram works for a small catalog

  • Customers already chat there.
  • A Mini App shop feels like a store: catalog, cart, checkout — without building a site day one.
  • Opens and orders can live next to stock, not in a black-hole story link.
  • You keep the customer for repeats and bonuses.

What you need (minimum)

  • Catalog — products, variants, photos, prices
  • Telegram shop — storefront where people already are
  • Warehouse — remains and reservations so you don’t oversell
  • Order board — statuses without a second CRM project

A bot constructor alone isn’t enough if stock and orders fall apart. A full “CRM portal” is overkill if you only need to sell 20–200 SKUs from chat.

Steps this week

  1. List 10–20 products with photos and prices.
  2. Connect a Telegram bot and open the Mini App shop on that catalog.
  3. Turn on stock for at least the bestsellers; reserve on order.
  4. Put the shop link in IG bio / TG about — replace “write for price” where you can.
  5. Process the first orders from one board; only then decide if you need a branded website.

Use marketplaces if volume depends on their traffic. Use Telegram when you want to own the next order.
